This game started out bad from the get-go for the Falcons. After a 3 and out on their first series, Michael Koenen’s punt was blocked and returned for a TD. It was all downhill after that. The Saints built a lead on the Falcons and took them out of their running game. Michael Vick had an awful game throwing the football. Vick completed 12 of 31 passes for 137 yards, he also ran the ball 6 times for 57 yards. Warrick Dunn had 13 carries for 44 yards. Alge Crumpler had 5 catches for 49 yards and WR Ashley Lelie caught 1 pass for 48 yards.

The Saints pushed the Falcons defense around a little bit. The Saints had 146 yards rushing and averaged 4.3 yards per carry. The Saints also completed 71.4% of their passes for 180 net yards in the air.
