The Atlanta Falcons suffer a couple of major injuries over the weekend
Starting linebacker Demorrio Williams tore a pectoral muscle over the weekend and he could be out 5 months. This is a huge blow to the Falcons who just re-signed him last week. It looks as if rookie Stephen Nicholas will get a crash course in how to play outside linebacker in the NFL as that’s one position that’s not too deep for the Falcons. Starting defensive tackle Rod Coleman was injured in a boating accident. The injury required surgery to his thigh that could keep him out of action for 3-5 months. He played in 15 games last season for the Falcons and he made 25 tackles, had 5 sacks, defensed 6 passes and recovered 3 fumbles. The Falcons really need Coleman because he’s a great pass rusher from the interior of the defensive line.
