7. (244) Jason Snelling, RB/FB
Most experts had Jason Snelling ranked as the 2nd best fullback in the draft and had him pegged for the 4th or 5th round so the Falcons were happy to snap him up in the 7th round. He has missed time on the football field due to epilepsy and that could be one of the main reasons that he dropped in the draft. He has nice size at 5’10″, 233 pounds and he has enough speed (4.6 40) to get extra yards. He’s a powerful runner and a good lead blocker that consistently can hit a moving target. In 43 games (20 starts) at Virginia, Snelling carried the football 276 times for 1,324 yards (4.8 ypc) with 11 TD runs. He also caught 84 passes for 775 yards (9.2 avg) with 4 TD grabs. Snelling has the look of a steal for the Falcons in the 7th round.
