The Falcons played their butts off yesterday but it just fell a little bit short on the scoreboard.  Joey Harrington played an outstanding game as he completed 31 of 44 passes for 361 yards with 2 TD passes and 0 interceptions.  Warrick Dunn was busy as he carried the ball 11 times for 55 yards (5.0 ypc) and he also caught 4 passes for 13 yards (3.3 avg).  Jerious Norwood also played a decent game with 6 carries for 32 yards (5.3 ypc) and he also caught 3 passes for 34 yards (11.3 avg).  WRs Roddy White (7 rec, 127 yards, TD) and Michael Jenkins (6 rec, 76 yards) both had one of their best games ever for the Falcons.  TE Alge Crumpler also had a solid game with 6 grabs for 63 yards (10.5 avg) with 1 TD run.  The Falcons rushed for 91 yards on 19 carries (4.8 ypc) and they also completed 31 of 44 passes for 351 yards.

The defense was led by linebacker Michael Boley (9 tackles) and DE John Abraham (2 tackles, 2 sacks) were very active for the Falcons.  But the Falcons couldn’t stop the Panthers running game as they ran the ball 36 times for 175 yards (4.9 ypc).  The Panthers also completed 13 of 22 passes for 138 yards.
